Cache (noun): a squirrel’s 🥜 stash
Cashu Cache lets you create a NIP-60 compliant Cashu Wallet and advertizes the NIP-61 public key so you can receive NutZaps. It also makes a backup of the wallet so you never lose the private key.
About this tool
This tool creates the following Nostr events:
NIP-60 Wallet (kind:17375
) – this creates a Cashu wallet stored in Nostr, which means it is accessible across applications. It contains the mints you use and a random private key (separate to your Nostr nsec).
NIP-60 Wallet Backup (kind:375
) – this is a backup of your NIP-60 wallet, and is exactly the same as the kind:17375
event, with the addition of a tag containing your public key to allow easy retrieval if needed.
NIP-61 NutZap informational event (kind:10019
) – this tag tells other people how to send ecash to you. It contains the mints you use, the relays you’ll read NutZaps from, and the pubkey they should P2PK lock your ecash to. The pubkey corresponds to the private key in your kind:17375
wallet.
Once created, your NIP-60 Wallet private key and NIP-61 NutZap public key can be used to NutLock tokens too.
NOTE: You can import and upgrade legacy kind:37375
wallets. Be aware that not all apps have moved to the new NIP-60 specification yet, so changes you make will only be visible in NIP-60 compliant wallet apps going forward.
